Old Dog Tag, German Silver and a 1935 dime

The days are now "hot" when you go out detecting in the afternoon. So Nate and I have been limiting our trips to about 1.5 hours. The one trip I found the two spoons and the old buckle by the Lawrence grist Mill foundation. The 1935 mercury dime I found across the road at the bottom of a slope.

The Back of the spoon says "German Silver". Most likely was silver plated and all the plating came off. Definately 1800's vintage.

These four wheat pennies were likey dropped in the twenties since the latest dates to 1921. They were all in the same hole. Found at Garfield Park.

This old dog tag was found along the road down by the old Dorvaks homesite in the metroparks. I did a search and couldn't find the owner although the home was built in 1900.

Old Pocketwatch

Found an old pocketwatch at the 1920's North Olmsted Middle School. It was deep. Probably gold plated. I tried getting some of the crusty stuff off but it's on there good.

Love Dad

Another quick hunt down in the metroparks. This time around Lakewood. Found a nice pocket knife with the engraving "Paul '93". The Cedar Point Arcade Token was found with a couple dimes, one of which was dated 1988.

On the back of the knife was "Love, Dad". Kind of a sad find since you know someone probably valued that knife a lot more than me.
